LABORATORY OF RETURNS
The notion of “return” has defined the diasporic and extraterritorial nature of Palestinian politics and cultural life since the Nakba in 1947-8. Often articulated in the “suspended politics” of political theology it has gradually been blurred in the futile limbo of negotiations.
Laboratories of Returns it is simultaneously a collection of ideas for an effective return of Palestinian refugees and more importantly it is a playground around which discussions about different forms of returns can take place. The project add to the legalistic approach to the right of return a projective one which proposes a series of images, maps, drawings, photographs, texts and analysis aiming to open the imagination towards different forms in which an actual return could take place.
Exploring forms of return of Palestinian refugees means also exploring ways in which the figure of the refugee and its associated spatial regime of dislocation both reshape the political space of the present and force us to image a new political space yet to come. It is in this space between the sites of dislocation and that of destruction that a future extraterritorial policy could take shape.

מעבדה לשיבות
מושג ה"שיבה" מגדיר את האופי הגלותי והאקסטריטוריאלי של החיים הפוליטיים והתרבותיים של הפלסטינים מאז הנכבה ב-1947-8. כשהוא עולה לדיון ב"פוליטיקה המושעית" של תיאולוגיה פוליטית, לרוב מתעמעם המושג בהדרגה בתהום הנשייה העקר של משא ומתן.
מעבדות לשיבות הוא אוסף רעיונות לשיבה אפקטיבית של פליטים פלסטינים, ואף חשוב מכך, מגרש משחקים המאפשר דיונים על צורות שיבה שונות. הפרויקט מוסיף לגישה הלגליסטית לזכות השיבה גישה פרויקטיבית המציעה סדרה של דימויים, מפות, שרטוטים, תמונות, טקסטים וניתוחים שנועדו לאפשר לצופה לדמיין אופנים שונים בהם עשויה השיבה להתממש.
חקר צורות שיבה בקרב פליטים פלסטינים משמעו גם חקר אופנים שבהם הן דמות הפליט והן משטר העקירה המרחבי הנלווה לו מעצבים מחדש את המרחב הפוליטי של ההווה, וכופים עלינו לשער בנפשנו מרחב עתידי חדש. במרחב זה עצמו, בין אתרי העקירה וההרס, עשויה להתעצב מדיניות אקסטריטוריאלית עתידית.

مختبر العودة
مفهوم "العودة" حدد الطبيعة المشتتة و ذات الحدود الخارجية للسياسة الفلسطينية و للحياة الثقافية منذ النكبة في 1947ـ 8. هذا المفهوم المركب غالبا في "السياسات المعلقة" للاهوت السياسي صار تدريجيا غير واضح في نسيان المفاوضات العقيم.
مختبر العودة هو في نفس الوقت مجموعة أفكار لرجوع حقيقي للاجئين الفلسطينيين و الأهم من ذلك هو حقل ممكن أن تدور حوله مناقشات حول أشكال مختلفة للعودة. المشروع يضيف إلى النهج القانوني لحق العودة نهجا إسقاطيا يقترح مجموعة من الصور، الخرائط، الرسوم، النصوص و التحاليل الهادفة إلى فتح الخيال عبر أشكال مختلفة يمكن للعودة الفعلية أن تجري فيها.
استكشاف أشكال عودة الفلسطينيين اللاجئين يعني كذلك استكشاف طرق يمكن لشخصية اللاجئ و لنظامه الزماني للتفكك المرتبط بذلك أن يعيدا من خلالها تشكيل المكان السياسي للحاضر و أن يجبرانا على تخيل فضاء سياسي جديد آت. في هذا الفضاء بين مواقع التفكك و التحطيم يمكن لسياسة خارج حدودية مستقبلية أن تتشكل.
